§Contact
Contact our patent search firm and reach a person, not a queue
E-mail info@metadragons.com about new work, or call (505) 357-5188, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Existing clients can reach their team at support@metadragons.com. The first scoping call is always free.

§ 01Tool
Reach us
Every message is read by a person on our team, not routed into a ticket queue.
§ 02Context
What to send in a first e-mail
When you contact a patent search firm for the first time, the most useful e-mail is short and non-confidential. We need enough to prepare for a scoping call, not enough to do the work. Please include:
- The technology in one or two sentences, described the way you would at a trade show, without the part that makes it work.
- The decision the work supports: a filing decision, an investor deck, an SBIR proposal, a sale, a licensing program, or a keep-or-lapse choice.
- Patent or publication numbers, if any. Issued patents and published applications are public, so their numbers are safe to send.
- Countries or regions that matter to you.
- Any deadline, such as a filing date, solicitation close, board meeting, or fee window.
- Whether you have a patent attorney or agent, and whether the report should go to them.
- The best phone number and time to call.
From there, we book a free 20–30-minute scoping call and send a fixed-fee written quote within one business day. The quote buttons across this site open an e-mail with these prompts already filled in. Here is what happens after that.
§ 03 — Boundaries
Please don’t send these before we sign an NDA
An NDA is available before any technical disclosure. Until it is signed, hold back anything you would not post publicly.
- Unpublished invention disclosures, technical descriptions, or lab notebooks
- Drawings, CAD files, schematics, or source code for unreleased work
- Draft claims or draft patent applications
- Unreleased product specifications or roadmaps
- Trade secrets, formulas, or process parameters
- Material that belongs to your employer or another company
If you send something confidential by mistake, tell us and we will delete it. Unpublished ideas are worth protecting from everyone, including us, until the paperwork is in place.

§ 05Questions
Before you get in touch
Something else on your mind? Call (505) 357-5188 or write to info@metadragons.com.
Is the first call free?
Yes. The scoping call takes 20–30 minutes, costs nothing, and commits you to nothing. Its job is to work out whether we can help and what that would involve.
Will you sign our NDA, or do you have one?
Either. An NDA is available before any technical disclosure, and your counsel may prefer to send their own form.
Can we meet in person?
Our office is in Albuquerque, and most engagements run by phone, video, and e-mail with clients across the US. If you would like to meet at the office, mention it when you write and we’ll arrange a time.
I already have a patent attorney. Should they contact you instead?
Either of you can. Many of our reports go directly to the client’s practitioner. Attorneys and agents can read how we support their practices.
Are you a law firm?
No. We provide technical, analytical, commercial, and administrative services, and we give no legal advice or legal opinions. Our scope and disclosures page sets out exactly what we do and don’t do.
